Thomas C. Berg

Professor Thomas Berg is the author of four books (including a leading casebook), more than 100 scholarly and popular articles, and many briefs in the Supreme Court and other courts on freedom of religion and expression. He also writes on intellectual property, social justice, and development. He co-directed St. Thomas's Murphy Institute for Catholic Thought, Law, and Public Policy; he serves on the board of Democrats for Life of America; and he contributes to Mirror of Justice, SCOTUS Blog, and other weblogs. He has degrees from the University of Chicago, Oxford University, and Northwestern University. practiced law with Mayer Brown in Chicago and clerked for Judge Alvin Rubin on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
